  • Surviving spouses, children or orphans of service members who died while on National Guard duty

2. Who does the Family Assistance Fund help?

  • Arizona Reserve Component service members and their dependents (all branches of service)

3. With what do the Arizona National Guard Emergency Relief Fund and the Family Assistance Fund loans and grants help?National Guard Family

  • Rent and mortgage payments
  • Food and utilities
  • Essential transportation and vehicle repair
  • Emergency Travel
  • Funeral Expenses
  • Medical Expenses
  • Personal needs when pay is delayed or stolen

4. How often may I request assistance?

  • Please understand that assistance is solely for emergencies.
  • Specific criteria must be met in order to receive loan or grant assistance.
  • Each request is based on a case-by-case situation.
  • If loan assistance is approved, the loan is provided interest free.

5. The Arizona National Guard Emergency Relief Fund and the Family Assistance Fund loans or grants will not help:

  • Pay for nonessentials
  • Finance ordinary leave or vacation
  • Pay fines or legal expenses
  • Help liquidate/consolidate debt
  • Assist with home purchase or improvements
  • Help purchase, rent or lease a vehicle
  • Help pay off credit card bills
  • Finance veterinarian care
